Lives and works in UK
Artist statement
My work is based on observations from social and political life. My conscience leads me to choose subjects that affect my emotional life, and the life of the Planet. Thus, Climate Change and its effects are essential as a subject in which I can, perhaps, make a difference. Likewise, political disturbances worldwide have become subjects of importance in painting alongside 'climate change'. In dealing with these world problems and the problem of bringing together art and politics, I have developed a technique of using plaster as a ground for the work in acrylic towards the final form. I like to think that the paint itself takes over after the plaster, with a life of its own as an imaginative takeover!
