Lives and works in Northampton, MA, USA
Artist statement
I’ve spent the past year trying to find my footing in spaces/communities throughout western Massachusetts. I’ve been a listener, a sense of stability, etc. My work focuses on contemporary textiles that have inhabited spaces during relevant points of my past several years in Western Massachusetts. My intention is to give the viewer a glimpse of these intimate instances without ever letting them fully enter the scenario. Although they do not possess symbols like those of traditional woven textiles, they still harness imagery and history that is only known to them and those with whom I choose to share it with. The work is my pursuit to understand the life that has come before me as well as what I have yet to learn.
