Lives and works in Falls Village USA / Isle of Islay Scotland
Artist statement
I am a multidisciplinary artist working across drawing, painting, and installation. Raised on the remote Isle of Islay in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland, I live and work between the USA and Scotland. My practice is process-led, rooted in personal engagement with landscape, and grounded in a commitment to sustainability. Through an ongoing exploration of weather, place, and loss, my work reflects intimate encounters with shifting environments. Walking, gathering, and close observation are central to my process. Communities, natural elements, and found materials become collaborators in a narrative I refer to as sensorial mapping—a form of mark-making that charts relationships between body, place, and memory. Weather, ever-present and unpredictable, it touches all places and people—indifferent yet defining; I explore its shifting presence, tracing human relationships to land and time. The physical body is central to this process, engaging touch to investigate and connect with place, treating the act of moving through a landscape as a form of mark-making. This reciprocal exchange between self and environment becomes a tactile dialogue.
