Artist statement

My name is Levar Allen and my work embodies my own spiritual world brought to life. Painting professionally for 5 years, I incorporate a prayer; that I achieve the same creativity God had when He manifested the universe itself. From this prayer, I find myself creating surrealistic pieces that speak to my spirit as well as to others by appealing to visuals that force viewers to dig deep within one's own mind or spirit. I pull inspiration from artists like Salvador Dali and Rene Magritte for their styles in art (Surrealism, Dadaism) and Jean Michel Basquiat for his attitude in the art world.
