Artist statement

My art encompasses sculpture, installation, drawing, video and sound. I examine subjects of personal memory, self-exploration, bodily exhaustion, and experience of isolation. While working with materials like aluminum, resin, wood, synthetic fabrics, found objects, and paper I utilize intimate transparencies as carriers. I often use the lens of intersectionality to scrutinize the themes of isolation, memory, and care. I'm strongly interested in a unified view of human-constructed reality and factors that make us organize external phenomena in a particular way. My works consider how objects hold traces of memory and use while remaining subject to change and reinterpretation. The concept of memory and the idea of preserving it is one of the main characteristics of not only my artistic practice but also my own identity.
