Artist statement

I am a New York-based artist born in Washington, DC with Ghanaian roots through my parents. My unique artistic process involves transforming photographs into suspended photo-based sculptures on styrofoam. Additionally, I incorporate video, sound, enriching my art with moving imagery and auditory expressions. These sculptures dynamically reflect my travels, with one side adorned by photographs taken while in Ghana and the other featuring reflections from my New York studio. This collaboration bridges the gap between my past and present. Through diverse mediums, I aim to foster understanding of cultural diversity and shared human experiences, inviting viewers on an introspective journey of self-discovery. Apart from my installation works, I also incorporate works on paper inspired by both autobiography and fantasy themes.
