Artist statement

I make art with light. Not to impress — but to care. Art came to me when everything else failed. It helped me survive, speak, and share. I’ve lived through many places — Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, England, Scotland, Singapore, and now Luzern. I didn’t choose art — it was the only way forward. I began with paper, bamboo, and melted plastic. I built quietly, with whatever I had. From 2019 to now, I’ve created hundreds of works — each shaped by instinct, emotion, and necessity. Now I build large public sculptures with my own hands — Radiant, Five Elements, Take-Off, Emerald Pursuit. I use recycled materials and light to create spaces where people can pause, reflect, and feel connected. This practice became Lightme – It Life: not a technique, but a way of living. In 2024, I co-founded Light-Me Verein in Meggen — a grassroots initiative born from the generosity surrounding Radiant. It supports annual public art rooted in care, reuse, and emotional architecture. Not an institution, but a rehearsal in generosity. A way to make light a shared gift. I work with transparency, reuse, and care. Each piece breathes with light and carries the rhythm of the day. That rhythm began not in the studio, but in a moment of love. We met in Luzern. I was living in Glasgow. She was in Luzern. We fell in love at first sight. That moment began a ten-year distance love — a quiet promise to return together when we are old.
