Artist statement
My larger-than-life self-portraits seek a balance of the duality of my identity as it coexists within my body. Utilizing shifting lines, I map out the way I see myself, and the world around me. Internal form and contour lines merge and flow, becoming one continuous stream coming together to create the figure. Finding sanctuary within myself and my identity can be a struggle, but moments of inner peace are achieved when my body is joined to the natural world, once again becoming part of a bigger picture.
