Lives and works in Jerusalem, Israel
Artist statement
I focus on images of local night culture, tracing the contemporary Israeli art scene while following global and historical trends. My practice revolves around social power structures and how they manifest within cultural spaces: attempting to understand the complex dynamics between social environments and artistic identity: my ongoing research and play into Tel Aviv's nightlife and particularly its impact on identity and authenticity has led me to question how physical spaces shape and define social interactions, and at last independent creation. To engage with the terms of spatial agency, artistic practice must show some form of transformative potential: attempting to maintain artistic practices while navigating relationships built in spaces of trade and exchange: it is a holy moment. It is the bond of the faithful and their directors of conscience, my very own critique of the spectacle, my interpretation of the modern confession: It is my local center of power knowledge, where spectacle manifests, a space for performance and appearance. It is a counterpoint, a so-called genuine self-assessment and transformation.
