Artist statement
My work mainly explores history: its documentation, monumentality, adaptation, and reinterpretation through solid, monolithic materials such as bricks, cobblestones, and epoxy. I also combine them with collected historical evidence. Another question I put - what could serve as a monument to the moving image? I find the moving image the most politically charged medium in the arts as well as in our everyday life. In my practice, I try to find a way to subvert and combine both of these mediums aiming to produce political impact.
