Marco Esparza
Lives and works in Chihuahua, Mexico
Artist statement
Marco Esparza (Chihuahua, 1986) is a Mexican visual artist and filmmaker whose work spans various mediums, blurring the line between the regional and the global. By using materials charged with social and emotional weight, he exposes a contradictory, plural, and polysemic human and geographical environment through a personal discourse that appeals to the intuitive. He has presented his work at the Marian Goodman Gallery in New York, the Colegio de San Ildefonso, and Fundación Casa Wabi; he has also discussed his practice at Fundación Botín, having been selected by artists Cristina Iglesias and Damián Ortega.
