Lives and works in Dallas, TX
Artist statement
I've spent my life on the Great Plains, where flat horizons are interrupted by swirling tongues of light and winding roads vanish over the edge into a sky that looms like a divine presence. My paintings channel these vast spaces, fluid brushmarks falling together into a world gleaned from memory and imagination. Everything is in a state of movement. The skies churn. The light feels shifting and temporary. Underlying it all is the structure of a mythic quest: the longing, the pursuit, the sudden shift of meaning when familiar ground dissolves into mystery.
