Artist statement
In my work, the mystical and reality coexist within a space shaped by layering, distortion, and deliberate visual interruption—methods which help me translate emotion into structure. In the studio, I weave together personal material with found imagery and art historical references, creating scenes that move between figuration and landscape, often anchored by interior spaces that frame my subjects. The use of composite imagery allows me to tell personal stories that explore broader human history, emotions, and themes that connect universally. I aim to articulate the way we experience the world internally, in an evolving collage of the remembered and the invented - representing the fragmented nature of the perception of memories, dreams, and the profound human experience.
