Artist statement

My work is inspired by the little things—the moments and details that make life softer on a hard day. Humor, community, and self-care are my greatest inspirations. Color is my love language: every shade holds a story, a memory, or an emotion. Through those feelings, I try to share my love and appreciation for the small pleasures that keep me grounded. I’m not a well-off woman, so my delight lives in simple beauty—the brightness of daisies, the smell of peach pie. Sometimes, when I’m anxious or angry (like in my piece I See You), I use aesthetics to process those intense emotions in a way that still feels inviting. I love the quiet laugh that happens when someone finally “gets it”—when they see what’s underneath the sweetness. Art hits my joy button. I hope that joy comes through.
