Artist statement

Connecting to, or turning into, the depth of our “beingness” or the base of our existence is an opportunity to be with an aliveness which lives our identities. In this connection there is power and freedom that in my opinion can be trusted and deserves our trust. Art making is the willingness to listen to and bring into physical being the expression of the content which lies below our identities. It is consciously connecting to the source which makes us. It is a practice of surrender. It is the accomplishment of the spirit. Making art yields us the tremendous gift of putting us in contact with a part of ourselves that lives separate from and is unthreatened by the conditions of the physical world. It connects us to the source of creation which is always available to us, and, I believe, holds within it all possibility and through which harmony can be brought into being.
