Lives and works in New York, NY, USA

Artist statement

Painting is an act of love. My work is deeply personal, an attempt to find a higher purpose within my childhood, which was tainted by abuse and addiction. Through psychologically charged interiors, I create spaces where the figure exists as a site of emotional and physical intensity—an arena in which desire, vulnerability, and sexual longing writhe. My love of the figure emerged from the pages of comic books and later evolved with the monumental narratives of Renaissance masters. The scenes I paint are open narratives, constructed through a process of collaging photographs until something clicks visually and a poetic resonance emerges. I am drawn to moments that feel unresolved, presenting the viewer with an unanswerable question. These works invite individual associations and often evoke a sense of emotional voyeurism. I seek to transform experiences of pain and darkness into something that can hold beauty, complexity, and possibility.
