Artist statement
My work examines the shifting boundaries of identity, environment, and the contested terrain between public and private space. By dissecting the visual language of urban life, its architecture, detritus, and invisible hierarchies. I explore how power structures define who belongs where, and who gets excluded. Each piece is a collision of politics and personal narrative: walls become witnesses, streets turn into stages, and materials pulled from the city carry both memory and resistance. I use these fragments to expose how environments shape us, and how we, in turn, leave our mark, sometimes intentionally, sometimes by accident. At its core, my practice questions ownership: of space, of identity, and of the stories written into the built world. Whether working on canvas, sculptural installation, or site-specific intervention, I try to unmask the forces that render certain spaces “public,” while enclosing others in privilege and surveillance. In doing so, I hope to reclaim art as an active participant in political dialogue, a space where boundaries are not just observed but redrawn.
