Lives and works in New York, NY

Artist statement

My multidisciplinary practice spanning photography, installation, XR, moving image, coding, collage and community facilitation builds layered worlds rooted in resistance and re-enchantment, where ancestral memory and networked technology converge. Working from South Asian diasporic ritual practice, syncretic spirituality and folklore, I make environments that ask what it means to tend: to land, to kin, to the ancestors, to futures we have dreamt up collectively. Central to the work is how technology might be re-scripted away from surveillance and algorithmic enclosure toward collective memory-keeping and ancestral interface. My installations frequently take the form of participatory spaces with modular reading rooms, zine workshops, screen walks where community-engaged process and collective re-imagining are the material. I understand art as praxis - memory, care and radical imagination constitutive of community building.
