Artist statement

Artistic expression is in the soul. Inspired by the music that raised me, these black music artist are depicted in a way that focuses on their essence; their energy being their means of expression, as opposed to the expressions in their face. I want to create a feeling, the true root of artistic expression, through the use of color and dynamic poses. Through my paintings I focus on conveying the emotions similar to that of the music that inspires me.
