Artist statement

Nathi Khumalo is a visual practitioner working with photography, performance and multimedia from Johannesburg, South Africa, his work varies from personal works that interrogate his home as well as the different relationships and spaces in his life, to social commentary on a variety of wider topics, including consumerism, and issues of representation. His practise is versatile and has allowed him to be apart of different mentorships and a residency over the past couple of years allowing him to learn new and experimental methods and approaches to producing artworks.Khumalo’s photography artworks have been exhibited and showcased in South Africa, Zambia, India, Myanmar and United States of America.
