Artist statement
My artistic practice explores the relationship between mathematical structures and human perception. My background in mathematics taught me to recognize patterns, systems, and relationships, while painting became the space in which I explore how these structures transform through intuition. My work exists within the ongoing dialogue between mathematical order and intuitive discovery. My creative process is non-linear. Each work evolves through successive layers as I return repeatedly to the same surface over an extended period of time. Geometric structures, fractal relationships, and recurring patterns are not merely visual elements; they are natural extensions of the way I think. Every new layer enters into dialogue with the previous one, transforming it and generating new layers of meaning. Over the years, I have developed an ongoing body of research that I call Witness Creation. Through this approach, I seek to extend my investigation beyond the surface of painting. The layered thinking I have developed on canvas is gradually expanding into moving image, sound, spatial environments, and carefully integrated digital technologies. I see technology not as an end in itself, but as a means of deepening the exploration of perception. I never begin with a predetermined image. Instead, I establish a structural framework and carefully observe the forms, relationships, and unexpected directions that emerge throughout the process. The tension between mathematical precision and...
