Artist statement
Introduction to projects and Content 'image C'; image A collides with image B, giving birth to image C, a GAN and neural network machine learning artificial intelligence removing context from image production. Artificial intelligence will not be able to determine the significance or recognise the historical, social and political implications of a given image, except through its data sets, setting a context within its learning, how and what this AI will produce as a new image from the collision between two images, replicating origin, or beginnings is a process it will display through its understanding of data within its systemic operations. Reterritorializing the deterritorialized contexts of what art is and how it is made, since its learning is decidedly filtered as an image, what image will it create? Addressing autonomy, re-defining what art can be, allowing discourse to extend beyond the current cultural climate of replication of what art is and defined as through its context. As historian, recently completed survey of art from the Malay Archipelago; Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. Revision of historiography from a non historicist perspective in favour of heterogeneous heterarchy, privileging sociological knowledge systems, their diverse interactions and trajectories, signifying the discursive causal non universalist social systems and their blind spots, a world of multiple modernities without historicist exploitation and domination, nothing to sugar...
