Artist statement
I am a choreographer, performing artist, and dance educator who works at the intersections of trauma-informed, inclusive, anti-racist praxes and community dance-making. My work is interdisciplinary and multi-modal, ranging from works for the stage, dance film, and performance installations influenced by literature, dance-theatre movement practices, and the natural world. Within these frameworks I investigate themes of trauma survival and resisting oppressive systems, centering on the experiences of disability, queerness, and race.
