Artist statement
My work is about transforming the noise of American culture to reveal the signals that are hidden beneath society’s relentless spectacle. Inspired by the visual chaos of consumer culture, I reimagine the images that overwhelm our senses and the objects that clutter our landscapes, using them to amplify narratives that have been ignored or downplayed. I use my interest in magic and illusion to channel the excesses of contemporary culture into explorations of identity and place through the lenses of social and environmental justice. These transformations offer viewers a moment to pause and engage with reconfigured images, inviting new perspectives to emerge from familiar forms. My aim is to inspire others to recognize the potential for creation and transformation all around us, even in the midst of structures that feel fixed in place. Each piece serves as a glimpse of what’s possible, encouraging a fresh perspective on the frequently overlooked and an invitation to see your boundless potential in the world.
