Artist statement

In my painting practice, I am developing a visual language to explore aspects of beingness. Fascinated by the nature of perception, I attempt to remove the mental varnish that is associated with having an identity that results in an automatic response to everything we see. I examine concepts of sameness and otherness and the nature of the boundary between the individual self and everything else. My paintings are manifestations of meditations on the connection between myself and the world I inhabit.
