Artist statement

My work experiments with traditional photographic tools and materials to engage in an expanded form of photography. I push the photographic process to its threshold by purposely “misusing” materials and defying established processes. Through photographs that change over time, disappear, and question the nature of image-making itself, I interrogate how an artwork is produced, how it circulates, and how it is consumed. The ephemeral nature of the photographs allows them to function as time-based artworks; though the subject of each photograph is static, its legibility and visibility become fugitive.
