Polina Filippova
Lives and works in London, UK
Artist statement
Filippova’s work captures moments between opposing forces—serenity and rage, clarity and obscurity, interior and exterior—creating emotional landscapes that acknowledge magic in ordinary moments, questioning how we experience time, presence and connection in the digital age. Her process involves compressing, distorting, and reprocessing images digitally and physically; recording moving-image through filters; printing; and re-filming, mirroring how we consume reality today through low-quality, compressed media. Her work asks us to pause, to reconsider the role of images in a world shaped by the speed and repetition of social media. By layering materials: paper, marble, and video, the artist questions the relationship between digital and physical, and how our human interactions can be defined and redefined within these spaces.
