Artist statement

Prasad Beaven’s most recent paintings have been stimulated by his experience of nature. Growing up in the foothills of the Himalayas Prasad has always had a strong affinity for nature and expressing this is not only important to him but also relevant and vital to mankind. ‘We must turn our attention to the beauty of nature by which our minds become still and the virtue of our being is felt.” Working in watercolour has allowed Prasad to paint with spontaneity and immediacy, by which he allows his feelings in that moment to guide him. Although most of his paintings have taken place outdoors they are very much internal relfections of this experience.
