Artist statement

Baviskar, started his art journey as well his life journey from a very critical starting point amidst social and economic crisis, Amidst a struggle for survival in his childhood, he was determined to study art. With successful attempts in his academic life, he got an esteemed job as a school art teacher which allowed him to pursue his practice alongside, besides being connected to his students. Baviskar firmly believes EDUCATION is a path towards emancipation, as it changes the direction of the path you are born into. In his childhood he was part of a local music band, the glimpse of which show through his work, becoming metaphors of the cacophony of life. He often connects to his mangled roots of his life's journey. Reflections of the self and the other, as forms of fragmentations. Baviskars visual representations display Fragility, Hunger, Humiliation which erupts within his drawings.
