Lives and works in London

Artist statement

I ground my practice in archiving momentary pieces of time that would otherwise get lost, stolen or denied, hoping to find and re-define language to think about the present from the tools of the past - I’m not sure where the future fits at the moment... It’s a practice that’s embedded within the canon of research that displays sound as an object, as a physical being and as a shared experience. The murky water that sits between secular and non-secular is one I hope my research subsides in, its effect on transnationalism, and further the cultural infrastructures and policies that are built from it. Presentations often explore the tension of finding a relationship between these subjects, which I then abstract and materialise through a compositional framework I describe as machine, devotion and the acoustic. Finding the poetics within this framework is where I feel my work feels at home the most.
