Artist statement
Ramin Etemadi-Bozorg is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice is rooted in empathy, memory, and the human body. Working across sculpture, installation, painting, performance, and video, he explores how personal and collective histories become embedded in bodies, gestures, and material forms. His work often focuses on fragmented or reconstructed figures, portraits, and hand castings as ways of preserving stories that might otherwise be overlooked or forgotten. Through both hyperreal and conceptual approaches, he examines vulnerability, absence, violence, care, and the traces that social and historical events leave on individuals and communities. Etemadi-Bozorg is particularly interested in compassion as both a personal and political force. His sculptures frequently bring bodies into physical or symbolic relationships with one another, creating spaces where fragility and resilience coexist. Across his practice, he treats the body not only as a subject, but also as an archive—one that carries memory, loss, intimacy, and resistance across generations.
