Artist statement
Across a range that includes traditional and experimental media including painting, video, sound, music, and writing, my practice sees image as being influenced, but not necessarily determined, by underlying structures both immanent to physical reality and those that have been built and absorbed so thoroughly as to evade perception. Whether colliding or coalescing, I aim to present (rather than represent) these forces with media that deem collaboration rather than submit them to a characteristically imperial human gesture.
