Tseng's practice consists of painting and installation, deriving motifs from desire and discomfort embedded within contemporary conditions. He primarily works from lived experiences and responses to current events. Exuding a sense of disarray and absurdity, his work presents the bruised optimism of the time. Tseng addresses the inherent flaws of technocapitalism, material culture, and human impulses. The imagery in his paintings describes moments of weakness. The objects in his installations are worn products of globalization. By merging bodily forms and ruins, the works press sensations against logic. Tseng intends to engage the viewers’ identification with societal bounds.
