Artist statement

My work starts from the idea that reality is not fixed, but formed through acts of attention. What is seen does not simply exist — it becomes. This is why relationships, couples and shared moments return in my paintings. They are not subjects, but fields where perception is tested. In my current series, Louise, the image is never entirely centred. A side panel, a curtain, a doorway or a shift in pattern unsettles the scene. The viewer enters a film that has already begun. Influenced by the ways in which physics questions the nature of observation, I aim to create images that feel familiar yet unstable. My painting does not wait to be understood. It waits to be seen.
