Artist statement

Artist Statement - Robyn Marie Holl These artworks deal with motion and connection, as it translates onto a two- dimensional space. This process becomes a dance and like dance, it involves my movements and space; the result is evidence of ethereal intertwining space, evidence of a human existence where the human is not visible. Colors emerge and depict energy emphasizing the gestural movements. I also pursue color to provoke the viewer’s personal reaction to the dance of forms. Embodied gestural energy interacts with color as harmonious connections are made through brushstrokes. As this process displays the dance of movement, the journey experienced represents motion in an instant in time. There is ever-fluid energy flowing in and around the compositions which both attract the viewer to explore and mystify the viewer to wonder.
