Artist statement
Rosalyn Driscoll Artist’s Statement My work in sculpture, installation, drawing, photography and performance is grounded in the felt experience of the body--mine and my viewers'. I speak to people's somatic senses, using human scale, visceral imagery and sensuous materials like wood, stone, steel and cloth, often combined with rawhide, a natural material that evokes life, death and transformation. I animate my sculptures with light, neon, video, touch and movement. In response to the global groundwater crisis, I'm collaborating with a springs ecologist to develop a body of sculpture, drawings and installations that evoke the hidden world of groundwater.
