Lives and works in Berlin, Germany
Artist statement
My work questions the politics of visibility: who and what is allowed to appear, how an image acquires authority, and what remains outside its frame. I work through intervention across painting, moving image, performance, sound and augmented reality, engaging with existing images, narratives and spaces. I am drawn to the hybrid, queer space and digital experience. Movement or sound can disrupt what appears fixed within an image. A static figure can begin to move, speak, disappear, or behave against the logic of the image that contains it. These interventions are not intended to complete the original image. They introduce another perspective, another layer that unsettles the forms within the image and allows something previously absent to become visible. My background in dance and choreography informs this process. I approach bodies and images through their gestures, rhythms, and relationships to space. The body in my work is often unstable: vulnerable and theatrical, moving between visibility and transparency. My focus on the body has expanded toward questions of ritual and transformation. I work in architecture and sites that carry histories of their own, where image, physical presence, and space become part of the experience itself. Across my work I explore the “Othering”. Othering is not only a subject but a method: a way of shifting the familiar image just far enough that another reading, another body, or another reality can enter it.
