Lives and works in Chicago, IL, USA
Artist statement
My work investigates how lived experiences, memories, and knowledge are passed across generations—especially through forms that conceal, contain, or protect. I’m drawn to the ways that land, architecture, clothing, and domestic objects quietly archive personal and collective histories. Using sculpture, video, and sound, I explore how these sites become vessels for memory, often operating below the surface of visibility. In recent projects, I’ve turned to fiction, intuitive logic, and constructed disorientation as tools to navigate my relationship to institutional power. These strategies allow me to question dominant narratives and consider alternate modes of truth-making. My practice is informed by my upbringing in the American Southwest, Latin American mysticism, and oral history traditions.
