Artist statement

Be it my relocation to another country, my desire to eat lunch communally, or my connection with my maternal ancestry, my experiences are my inspiration. While I express them through my work, I also welcome you to be a part of them instead of looking from afar. As an interdisciplinary artist, I use the form of games, interactive installations, performances and wearables to create these shared experiences, where our bodies are equally a part of the work as the materials. This allows me to prompt intimate connections between us, our experiences and the environment we’re in, creating a whole new story to tell. Now, you and I are protagonists in the retelling of a past, the telling of an ever-changing present and the foretelling of a future. From being an architect pitching why you should live in a lunch box, to being a time traveller asking you to save the world by taking inspiration from nature, I take a fictional route to converse about our reality. Using public and fictitious personas to address private happenings allows me to make them more accessible. This synergy between the real and fictional movement within space and time underlies my work.
