Artist statement
As a child, I was influenced by my father’s activities and early accomplishments as a painter, ceramicist and Guggenheim Fellow. My love of design and spatial awareness at age 4 was observed by my father who then built me a modern, open floor-plan dollhouse so I could rearrange walls to my content. My photography has always been influenced by human constructs and contrasts — in light, materials or meaning. As long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to architectural imagery. Today, my artistic practice involves three of my greatest loves: photography, spatial design, and making things with my hands.
