Lives and works in New Delhi, Delhi, India
Artist statement
I have always believed that painting is not something I do, it is something I live. Born in Prayagraj, a city shaped by literary voices, I grew up carrying stories of India's middle class—their struggles, dignity, and quiet endurance. Figures in my paintings are not portraits but psychological presences. I often return to the umbrella as a motif—suggesting shelter, presence, and sometimes absence. Working in pastel, cloth and acrylic, layered on paper, mount board, and canvas, I seek an abstraction of emotion rather than realism of form. Painting helps me hold silence, conflict, and the small stories of everyday life.
