Lives and works in Tokyo, Japan

Artist statement

My practice examines ambiguity not as a lack of clarity, but as a political and aesthetic strategy. In medieval Japan, where life was shaped by uncertainty and fragile alliances, ambiguity and emptiness emerged as tools for survival—spaces where meaning remained open, negotiable, and shared. The tea ceremony later institutionalized this logic, creating a room where silence and non assertion became forms of political choreography. I explore how such cultivated ambiguity can function today as a counter practice to the demand for constant transparency, offering a space where disagreement can remain present without demanding consensus.
