Artist statement

My work begins with the keyword "desire." Before coming to the UK, I focused on the desire to possess a "space" that I couldn't have. This desire gradually grew and changed, becoming a longing to escape reality. The images and stories I create are primarily a mix of my daily life and daydreams. By creating spaces that seem to exist but don't, I blur the lines between reality and imagination. This is an effort to deceive myself. Ironically, the more I try to escape from reality, the more my work reflects it. I work across various media, including painting, drawing, installation, and sculpture, freely shifting between them depending on the themes I wish to explore. My work is not only a reflection of personal emotions but also a response to the broader sense of displacement, anxiety, and the absence of belonging that many experience in contemporary society.
