Lives and works in New York

Artist statement

As a second generation Taiwanese American, the duality of my cultural perceptions inform my interest in socio-economic ideologies of the American dream, labor, and authenticity. I’m interested in the language and aesthetics of the global economy; processes of manufacturing, outsourcing, importing, and exporting embody the subjective and objective notions of identity. What does is mean to outsource your work and who is importing and exporting the ideas? My work confronts the dependencies/benefits of these global/local relationships and explores the dualities of being Taiwanese/American and Artist/Fabricator — identities that both rely on the exchanges of culture and labor.
