Artist statement

Existential philosophy, psychology and rituals are some of the academic fields my work branches from. I mostly focus on materialization of feelings and thoughts. I try to solidify this idea through using various mediums for example like clay, being the most informative when it comes to copying the body and touch. I am interested in the experience of being a human and how elaborately these experiences are the seed of the creation of our language, rituals and understanding of both ourselves and the world we are in. This idea also translates in my works as in relation to the macro cosmos we endure in. Fish, circle, vessel, egg, shells are some of the symbolic imagery I use to create a narrative. All these words have multiple meanings tied up to them, mostly used in describing rebirth and cycle of life. In my work, I try to romanticize these grand ideas in a colorful yet paradoxical way.
