My practice examines what happens when architecture loses its certainty and material begins to behave unpredictably. I work across ceramics, moving image, installation, and speculative architectural form, using surface, ornament, and the body as sites where structure can soften, distort, and acquire memory. Architecture trained me to value systems, precision, and control. Clay continually disrupts those habits. In my wheel-thrown, slip-cast, and 3D-printed ceramics, modeled or coded forms are altered by gravity, shrinkage, glaze, and firing. I am interested in the point where a digital instruction stops being authoritative and material begins to make its own decisions. Repetition and variation allow me to study how small shifts in process produce distinct identities. My recent AI-generated images and videos extend this investigation into imagined environments. Buildings become enveloped in translucent fabric, ruffles, folds, and ornamental surfaces. Facades move like garments or skin, while architectural mass becomes temporary, sensual, and responsive. I use AI as a speculative image-making tool, then shape its output through iterative prompting, selection, sequencing, editing, sound, and translation into drawings, models, or physical objects. Across these media, I return to cultural inheritance, femininity, beauty, and the tension between protection and permeability. My Armenian background and movement across different places inform my attention to how objects and spaces...
