Artist statement

My practice investigates the intangible dimensions of existence through the relationship between material and immaterial forms. Drawing from twentieth-century media theory, modern science, and philosophy, I have used the term “Intangible Art” to describe a practice in which physical materials become a means of approaching what cannot be directly seen, measured, or fixed. Rather than treating media simply as tools of representation, I am interested in the point at which material form begins to suggest an invisible condition: time, perception, presence, absence, memory, and the structures through which we understand reality. Painting, installation, light, video, and other media function as different ways of testing this boundary. This investigation has gradually led me toward language and systems of meaning. I became increasingly interested in how signs acquire meaning, how meaning becomes fixed, and how systems of communication can also become systems of control. From this inquiry emerged Song E Code, a non-phonetic visual language constructed from two elementary signs: ● and ○, representing presence and absence. Their meaning is not predetermined but produced through relationships such as distance, repetition, sequence, and asymmetry. Through Song E Code, I explore the possibility of a language that remains open rather than fixed—a system in which meaning is continuously formed through relation, perception, and interpretation.
