Artist statement

In my work, I question the values of our society by breaking open people's shells. I open up a discourse on consumption and ideals of beauty in the context of feminism and capitalism. On the one hand, I create intimate portraits of people from my immediate surroundings using multimedia and installation techniques such as photography, video, sound, performance and sculpture. On the other hand, I appropriate existing mass media portraits from the glossy world of the fashion industry, which I skin and thereby reinterpret.
