Artist statement

I have always been attracted by these coloured belts that securely held the luggage of all travellers, in large and small airports, during my trips... The concept : I started to creatively elaborate on what these belts meant to me; and besides keeping your luggage safe, I thought of giving them a new artistic meaning, which creatively expressed a sense of security, holding all things safe and artistically enhancing their beauty or importance. So I started having fun using different kinds of art and connecting them all to the belts. By enclosing artwork, objects, pieces of furniture or just by going to put these belts on certain objects and points in the city, expressing myself with a street-art concept and sometimes sending messages. My biggest goal is to create large-scale artistic installations that reproduce the concept of large-scale belts, i.e. giant ones, enclosing bridges, civil works, monuments or buildings.
