Sumiko Tabata is a Japanese contemporary wood sculptor whose practice explores human connection, memory, and inner experience through carved wooden figures. Using the natural presence of wood, she transforms the image of the child into a quiet space for reflection-where vulnerability, emotion, and the complexity of human relationships can emerge.
